Code of Practice on Race, Religion, Ethnic and National Origin
Aim
People First Cliffburn believes that discrimination on the ground of Race, Religion, Ethnic or National Origin is unfair, morally wrong and unjustifiable in terms of good practice. In addition discrimination on the grounds of race and origin is illegal.
The code of practice aims to ensure that in relation to recruiting volunteers, staff and involving people in activities carried out by People First Cliffburn there are no barriers which may directly or indirectly discriminate against and unfairly disadvantage individuals on the bases of their race, religion, ethnic or national origin.
Guiding Principles
Applications will be encouraged from people of all races, religions, ethnic and national origins to volunteer within the organisation and also suitably qualified persons, if employment opportunities become available.
All activities and events organised for the community by People First Cliffburn will encourage and welcome the involvement of all people and of all races, religion, ethnic and national origins.
Volunteers and those employed will be able to specify days off and holidays within the agreed holiday entitlement to cover their religious days or national holidays.
It is the responsibility of the management committee to investigate complaints of discrimination or unfair treatment on the grounds of race, religion, ethnic and national origins

People First Cliffburn believes that discrimination on the ground of Gender, Sexual Orientation, Marital Status or Age is unfair, morally wrong and unjustifiable in terms of good practice. In addition discrimination on the grounds of sex is illegal.
The code of practice aims to ensure that in relation to recruiting volunteers, staff and involving people in activities carried out by People First Cliffburn there are no barriers which may directly or indirectly discriminate against and unfairly disadvantage individuals on the bases of their gender, sexual orientation, marital status or age.

People First Cliffburn welcomes the involvement of all age groups of people in activities, volunteering or any employment opportunities becoming available. All individuals, over time build a wealth of experiences and skills which add to the combined knowledge of the organisation, and People First Cliffburn aim to utilise this knowledge.
Volunteers and staff will, with prior agreement, work a level of flexible hours to enable child care related issues to be overcome. People First Cliffburn will ensure equality of pay and work conditions for all staff and volunteers.
It is the responsibility of the management committee to investigate complaints of discrimination, unfair treatment or inequality on the grounds of gender, sexual orientation and marital status.
